Your hounds "Vacation Destination"
Benefits of Their stay:
Catering to the Greyhound's "couch-potato" way of life is what we do best!
Whether it is sun-bathing on the large patio or playtime in the yard, your grey will have
the ability to choose when it's naptime or playtime!
Many Greyhounds suffer from separation anxiety when boarded and away from home.
Because of the in-home environment Greyt Escape offers, we are able to observe your hound's
daily activities. Although most of our guests seem to join right in, on occasion they may
need a bit of extra attention. This is where the no-kennel /crate environment comes in quite
handy. Allowing the freedom to follow us around the house and into the yard, receive rubs
& kisses all day long and sleep on soft dog beds right in our own room seems to please our
four legged guests and make them feel right at home.
What we offer:
Aside from a home environment, Greyt Escape provides beds, food & water bowls, treats
(homemade and organic/natural), a guarantee that we will follow your pets current diet and
medication schedule, a safe and easily accessible outdoor space, plenty of personal
attention and TOYS, TOYS, TOYS!
Items you'll need to bring along:
Food: Although we have a hound of our own and extra
food is available, it is not wise to change a dog's diet especially when they will already be a bit
nervous. If you are concerned you have not packed enough, make a notation on the drop-off checklist
provided to you with the contract. We will be happy to pick-up and charge a bag of the correct food to
your final bill.
Medication: If your hound is on medication that
requires a schedule, please provide enough medication to sustain their stay and a schedule with dosage
information. This can be detailed in the contract where space is provided. In addition, you must supply
the schedule in which their medication should be administered as well as any "special techniques" used to get
them to take it.(I.E. in a bite of hot dog, etc...)
Leashes & Muzzles:
Please provide a leash and collar with I.D. for your pet's safety. On weather permitting
days, your pet will be taken to the doggy arena to run and play and will need to be on a
leash for the short walk. A muzzle must accompany your hound, please bring it along as we
may not have enough extra's to go around and all hounds will be muzzled during playtime
in the arena.
Crates: If you're pet is crate trained and
prefers to sleep there at night, please provide the crates as well as their bed / blanket to make them
feel at home.
Toys: Sometimes pets feel more at ease when
surrounded by their favorite things from home. If there is a favorite toy your pet cannot live without,
please feel free to bring it along. We aim at providing the utmost comfort for your pet.
Vaccination Records:
Please bring a record from your veterinarian's office verifying that all shots
are current. We will keep an updated record in your hounds file. You are always
welcome to have your veterinarian fax an updated copy to our office when they go
for check-ups.
We always suggest that a personal item of your hounds be brought along. (I.E. a blanket or
bed is the easiest.) This provides your hound with a familiar object that reminds them of home
and helps to make them more comfortable.
